Division one make finals
WELL, this is it.
After all the argy bargy, nail biting, rained out
days, days of extreme heat and players missing
because of sickness it all comes down to this.
On Tuesday, February 6, the four teams in the
finals got to play on the Yarram Lawn section,
this being first against second, Yarram Green
against Yarram Gold and the winner of this match
gets the opportunity to play in the grand final, the
loser will play the winner of third and fourth, be-
ing either Heyfield or West Sale Green.
Whatever transpired on the rinks on Tuesday,
it must be noted that the last Midweek Pennant 2
competition won by a Yarram team was in 1999,
18 years ago. It is a credit to everyone concerned
the club has two teams playing off for a place in
the grand final.
Results in next week.
On a less exciting note, although by no means
less important, the Ladies Championship Fours
were played off on Wednesday, January 31, and
the winners were Angela Barrand, Glad Atkin-
son, Jan Smith and Anne Collins.
Well done to these ladies who keep putting
their best foot forward. They will now go on to
play in the North Gippsland Bowls Division Fours
at a venue to be named sometime in March.
On February 8 and 9, Yarram ladies club
president Chris Honey will have the privilege of
handing the club over to the North Gippsland
Bowls Division for the use of the State Fours
Spectators are welcome. You are bound to see
some classic bowling. Play starts at 9.30am.
