The A Grade h/cap went to a regular visitor from the
Warragul Club, Cecilia Stewart saluting with net 77.
Rachel Brown was the runner up in the A Grade h/
cap with 79 on C/B.
In B Grade Diana Balhorn led the field home with
27 points with Janice Marchesi declared the runner up
with 26 points .Nancy Barlow 25, Jeanette Mitchell 25
and Di Norton won DTL balls.
Other awards went to Foster rep Beth Curran net 79,
Dulcie Beer 80 and Bernie Clarke from Garfield also
with net 80.
Di Norton won NTP on the 15th, Amanda Mclure
the target hole on the first and Jen Nickell got closest on
the 18th with a nice shot.
In the men’s event Chris Bailey (8) won the men’s A
Grade with 39 points.
Bob Hodges (18) in recent good form was the run-
ner up to Chris with 37 points.
Rob Norton (23) got the chocolates in B Grade
with 37 points from David Phelan a close second on
DTL balls were awarded to Tom Lawrence 36,
Joe Razinger 34, Alan Ross 33, Steve Clark 31, Peter
Brown 31, and Dan Dwyer 31and Bill Williams also
on 31 points.
Nearest the pin went to Chris Bailey on the first Bill
Reid on seven, David Phelan 15th and Paul Govaars
on the 18th.
Cold wet and windy conditions greeted an excel-
lent field for Saturday men’s day with play eventually
getting under way after the worst of the wintry showers
Joey Slater (8) from the Sale Club defied the conditions
to win the scratch with an impressive 77 off the stick.
Grant Mclure (7) from Garfield won the A Grade h/
cap with net 72.
A Grade runner up was Darren Rowe with 74.
The B Grade scratch went to Graeme Geisler Jnr
Jack Ingram won the B Grade h/cap with net 75 on
C/B from Alan Ross who also celebrated a special birth-
day on the weekend with another consistent round.
The C Grade S/ford went to Gary Kelly from Gar-
field with 36 points.
Lachie Considine down from Merimbula was the
runner up on 35 points. Stretch Harty won D Grade with
35 points and another local Allen Baggaley scored 33
points to get the runners up award.
The vets’ awards went to Greg Kelly on 36 and
Stretch Harty was the runner up with 35 points.
The NTPs went to Ignatius Duivenvoorden on the
first, Joey Slater seventh, Shane Wooley on the 15th and
Tom Lawrence on the 18th.
On Sunday with the conditions improving despite
a cold wind another excellent field played a mixed Ca-

enth, Sally Stockley 15th and Jan Beuthin on the 18th.
The men’s were Reno Borg first, Bill Reid seventh,
Peter Cartwright 15th and Alan Farley the 18th.
Over 100 golfers teed up to play the popular four-
ball s/ford in perfect conditions on Monday morning
with a 9.30am shotgun start.
A Grade went to Graeme Geisler Jnr and George Ja-
mieson with 43 points on C/ B from Graeme Geisler Snr
and Gary Stewart. Ian Peel and Brian Busk combined
nicely to have the best score on the day with 45 points
to win the B Grade award. Kip Linden and Chris Vas-
sallo, a couple of newcomers to the game, played well
to be declared runners up in B Grade with 43 points.
A further nine combinations winning DTL balls
down to 40 points.
The Foster team of Beth and Fiona Curran were de-
clared the winners of the ladies A Grade with 41 points
from Leanne Wallace and Cheryl Dornan on 40 points.
In B Grade Lyn Pinner and Jeanette Mitchell a regu-
lar visitor won B Grade with 38 points.
The B Grade runners were Dianne Norton and Lisa
Regnier with 36 points with several DTL balls award-
The ladies NTPs went to June Hunter seventh,
Bernie Clark 15th and the target hole on the first to Di
Moody and 18th to Heather Poletti.
The men’s NTPs went to David Wright first, Paul
Govaars seventh and David Wright again on the 18th.
Yarram Golf Club members were delighted with the
accolades from the visiting golfers on the presentation
of the course and the hospitality shown to the many
visitors to the town with a great atmosphere generated
in the packed clubhouse at Monday’s final presentations
that wrapped up another wonderful annual tournament.

Local winners: Beth and Fiona Curan were declared the
A Grade winners of the four ball stableford ladies event on
Monday by Yarram Golf Club member John Papworth.
Visitors: Paul Considine and his sons Lachie and Zack trav-
elled down from Merimbula with friend Peter Speed- Gor-
don to take part in the Yarram Golf Club’s June tournament.

WITH the golf course in superb condi-
tion Yarram’s four day June tournament
was an outstanding success with golfers
from over 20 clubs including interstate
visitors converging on Yarram for the
annual extravaganza of golf.
Friday was ladies day with Sandra Denovan get-
ting the locals off to a good start winning the A Grade
scratch with 95 off the stick.
