opportunity to see a rare park
performance of Shakespeare’s
Best Bits this month.
Sale Botanic Gardens will once
again play host to the Australian
Shakespeare Company when it
performs Shakespeare’s Best Bits
at the Lakeside Entertainment
and Arts Facility on 21 February.
Whether you love or hate
Shakespeare’s works, the comical
production is sure to draw some
laughs with its hilarity, likened to
that of Monty Python.
The performance centres around
a group of tradesmen and
amateur thespians called the
Mechanicals from A Midsummer
The six men come together to
rehearse a play for Duke Theseus’
wedding which has been written
by their leader, Peter Quince the
However, they have their sights
set on another playwright.
Having diminished Peter’s pride
somewhat, they convince him to
return to the stage and perform
a series of slapstick renderings of
Shakespeare’s best bits.
